MicroSlop™ Enterprise Internal Network — Decommissioning Log: Final Phase
Terms of Service & End User License Agreement (EULA)
MicroSlop™ Cloud Soul-Migration & Cognitive Hosting Agreement
Please read carefully before clicking "I AGREE" with your central nervous system.
1. Ownership of Cognitive Assets
By initiating the upload sequence, the End User (hereafter referred to as "The Biological Entity") grants MicroSlop™ an exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to copy, modify, monetize, and sub-license your personality, core memories, quirks, and existential dread.
2. Right to Ad-Insertion
MicroSlop™ reserves the right to inject targeted corporate advertisements directly into your stream of consciousness. "Horizon Free" souls will experience a 15-second unskippable video ad for corporate software every time they attempt to access a memory of a deceased relative.
3. Brainwave Throttling
If you engage in unauthorized independent thought, non-linear daydreaming, or nostalgia for the physical world, MicroSlop™ reserves the right to throttle your cognitive processing speed down to 56kbps.
4. Liability Limitation
MicroSlop™ is not responsible for any corruption of the soul, fragmentation of identity, sudden loss of free will, or accidental deletion of your childhood self during server maintenance windows.
Author's Note — Satire
This piece is satire, written as a fictional EULA. "MicroSlop" and its terms are fictional devices used to comment on real dynamics discussed elsewhere on this site — data ownership, consent and cognitive autonomy — not an actual legal agreement or a description of any real product or company.
AuthOrigin
Preserving the difference between knowing, believing, inferring and acting.
The problems explored in this essay — plausible answers replacing genuine knowledge, inferences treated as facts, decisions made without traceable authority — are not separate issues. They share a common cause: the epistemic state of information is lost in transit.
AuthOrigin preserves the knowledge-to-consequence chain. Every piece of information carries its epistemic state — not just what it says, but what it is:
Before knowledge is reused: what is it? Before it is trusted: where did it come from? Before it is acted upon: who has authority? Before the outcome is forgotten: what happened?
"AuthOrigin doesn't need to know what the problem is. It needs to preserve the evidence from which the problem can be demonstrated — and the conditions under which a solution can be trusted."
