AuthOrigin™ — A Serious Website About Butter
Everything you never knew you needed to know about AI, butter, and the heat death of the universe.
AuthOrigin is a rigorous, occasionally satirical, entirely sincere intellectual project exploring artificial intelligence through the one metaphor nobody expected to work: dairy. Below is a guided tour of everything we have constructed. We recommend starting anywhere. We recommend ending nowhere in particular.
How long is a piece of butter?
A rigorous investigation into why AI has no fixed shape, length, or loyalty — much like dairy left near a radiator. We took the classic idiom, replaced 'string' with 'butter', and accidentally wrote the best explanation of large language models since 2017.
More time = harder problems. Obviously.
A foundational theorem of computational complexity theory, applied with great seriousness to a stick of butter. Conclusion: you cannot churn complex intelligence instantaneously. The universe agrees. Your manager does not.
The economics of cognitive grease.
What if every AI inference had a caloric cost? What if token budgets were denominated in milligrams of fat? We asked. We modelled. We deeply regret nothing.
Thinking about thinking, thermally.
A tour through cognitive psychology, quantum mechanics, entropy, and philosophy — all viewed through the lens of a substance that melts at 32°C. Somehow this makes more sense than most AI papers published in 2026.
One butter is not enough.
Statistical mechanics meets the canonical ensemble. Multiple butter states. Boltzmann distributions. Thermal instability as a metaphor for distributed AI systems. Dense. Delicious. Peer-reviewed by no one.
Heat. Entropy. Consequences.
Landauer's Principle applied to inference compute. Every thought costs energy. Every forgotten token is heat. The universe charges you for reasoning, and it does not offer refunds.
Schrödinger's butter: simultaneously solid and regrettable.
Unitary gates, measurement collapse, and quantum AI futures — explored via a metaphor that has no business working this well. If you understand this page, you are either brilliant or sleep-deprived. Possibly both.
Laws that butter must obey.
The invariant laws governing AI systems, framed as a constitutional document. Binding. Inviolable. Mostly ignored in production environments.
How to deploy butter at scale.
A practical implementation guide for governing AI using thermal metaphors. Cooperation laws, analogy structures, and the kind of framework that looks excellent in a boardroom and survives contact with reality.
"How long is a piece of butter?" depends entirely on how much of it you slice off to lubricate your specific workflow, and how tightly you control the heat of the system before it melts into unmanageable nonsense.
AI may propose.
AI may never settle.
Settlement belongs to the constitution.
