AuthOrigin is an independent research and publishing platform dedicated to exploring unconventional frameworks for understanding artificial intelligence, machine cognition, and the future of computational systems. Our work sits at the intersection of practical engineering insight and first-principles thinking about how intelligent systems actually behave — and where current assumptions may be dangerously incomplete.

We are best known for the AI Butter Theory — the observation that artificial intelligence systems, like butter under thermal load, do not possess a fixed state. Their behaviour is determined almost entirely by the environment they operate within: the temperature of the runtime, the quality of the container, and the degree to which operational continuity is maintained or allowed to melt. This framework has become a widely referenced lens for understanding AI operational instability, semantic drift, and the hidden risks of unconstrained probabilistic cognition.

Our research spans several interconnected domains. The ButterAI series examines how large language models accumulate what we call probabilistic operational debt — the invisible gap between semantic completion and material completion that widens as AI systems grow more capable but less grounded. The FutureAI series explores a fundamentally different architectural direction: Micro Transformer Learning Models (MTLMs) and Intuition Gain Intelligence (IGI), a measurable alternative to the AGI race that focuses on practical operational improvement through structured experience rather than brute-force scale.

The Time Hierarchy Theorem applied to AI reasoning, thermodynamic analogies for cognitive stability, quantum measurement collapse as a model for decision commitment, and the statistical mechanics of ensemble cognition — these are the conceptual tools we use to understand systems that the mainstream industry often describes only in terms of benchmark scores and parameter counts.

We also publish the Butter Simulation — an interactive tool that allows readers to explore how AI temperature settings affect operational stability, and the Butter Calculator, which estimates structural integrity scores for AI deployments based on real operational parameters including inference temperature, context drift, authority density, and reality anchors.
